Jan Grzebski was a man living through a time of serious communism. Many items were rationed, such as food and other basic amenities, as the Cold War hung heavily over Eastern Europe.
Despite all of this, Jan was living a good life with his wife and children and he held down a decent job for many years. However, in 1988 something happened which would change his life forever, and would etch his name into history forever.
Jan Grzebski was born in 1942 in Dzialdowo, Poland. At this time, the country was trying to release itself from the grip of Germany, and unfortunately when the war ended in 1945, the country fell behind Russia’s “Iron Curtain”.
2. Railroad Worker
Despite all of the difficulties the country was under, Jan fought hard to become successful. He was able to secure himself a good job working on the railroads as a track and train repairman. His job meant he picked up lots of attention from ladies in the neighbourhood.
3. Family Man
Jan Grzebski met his wife Gertruda Grzebska when they were in their late teens. Jan proved to his future wife that he would be able to provide for the family, despite the conditions they were having to live in. When he finally proved this, she accepted his hand in marriage. Together, they had four children.
