The sitcom Happy Days graced our screens for a decade and really did capture the hearts of so many people around the world.
It has been over 30 years since the last episode aired, so where are the stars of the show now?
Many of them went on to have lustrous careers but others went on to some not-so-happy days – you won’t believe how much Joanie has changed!
Then: Ron Howard
Richie Cunningham was the ultimate 50s teen, complete with red hair and freckles. He was a good guy who just tried his best to land a date.
Now: Ron Howard
Ron left the show in 1980 to pursue a career in directing. Happy Days wrote him out of his part by having his character join the army. Since then he has had a successful directing career – he was behind the camera for Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, Parenthood, Cinderella Man and the super successful The Da Vinci Code. He continues to direct and has passed the acting baton on to his daughter, Bryce, who appeared in Twilight and Jurassic World.

Ron had a low draft number and did not want to serve in Vietnam. He decided to accept the role to avoid being drafted by having a specific number of people depend on him to stay in the states.
